Setting Throttle Limit on Foil Drive ControllerUpdated 2 months ago
The Foil Drive controller comes in-built with a feature called Throttle Limit. This lets you have control to limit your throttle below the standard full, 100% throttle.
How to Set Throttle Limit
1. Press down the cruise control trigger for 3-5 seconds to release the LCK feature.
2. Press and hold the power button to enter the menu.
3. Short press the power button once to reach option 2. Thr. Limit. Press and hold power button to enter menu.
4. All controllers come pre-set at 100% throttle. To change this, press and hold the power button once to change the last digit, twice to change the second digit, or three times to change the first digit.
5. Short press the power button until you reach the number you prefer. For example, if you wish to have max 50% throttle, your screen should read 050.
6. To exit the main menu, tap the cruise control trigger twice.
The throttle limit function will only affect the controller trigger. When you change your system settings via the Foil Drive app, the settings will affect the motor's thrust output. This means having low power modes on both the controller and the app will reduce your thrust level even further.
Who Is This Feature Good For?
This feature is great for new riders who aren't confident on 100% throttle, lightweight riders, and for those who are a bit 'trigger happy' and want to limit their throttle level!
This feature can also be used for those who are looking to improve their foiling skills, to lessen the Foil Drive's assistance and control more power on their own.
Remember, your throttle limit will not return to 100% on its own, so be sure to change the settings if you wish to return to full throttle.
