Foil Drive Controller Not Showing Telemetry Data or Correct Battery Percentage

If you find that your Foil Drive controller is no longer showing telemetry data when you quick press the power button, you may have accidently changed a setting in the menu. Alternatively, if you have received a replacement controller and your battery percentage reading is not correct on your Assist or Assist PLUS unit, you will need to change the Battery Serial Number. Follow the steps below to rectify these problems. 


WIRELESS CONTROLLER FEATURES

1. Power button

2. Throttle trigger

3. Cruise control trigger


Instructions:

1. Press and hold cruise control trigger and quick press power button.

2. Toggle down to option 7. VESC Comm.

3. Press and hold power button

4. Toggle to *on

5. Press and hold power button to save

6. Press cruise control trigger twice to exit menu

7. Quick press power button to check telemetry menu is enabled.


IMPORTANT: If you have received a replacement V2 controller after the 19th of December 2023 and using an Assist or an Assist PLUS unit, you will need to change battery serial number to enable correct telemetry between your unit and your controller. 

How to Change Battery Serial Number for Assist or Assist PLUS Systems

Instructions:

1. Turn on the controller (1) 

2. Hold down cruise control trigger (3) and single press the power button (1) to enter the menu, 

3. Once in the menu, let go of the trigger (3).

4. Toggle the menu pressing (1) in short bursts until your reach 5. Batt. Ser Num

5. Long press (1) to enter selection.

6. Short Press (1) to toggle the number to '8' if using an Assist PLUS, and '6' if using an Assist. 

7. Press cruise control trigger (3) to save. 

8. Press cruise control trigger (3) to exit menu.

Your controller has now been reconfigured to your unit. 

How to Change Battery Serial Number for Gen2 Systems

If you have purchased or received a replacement controller from a dealer, the battery serial number may not be configured for your Gen2 system. Follow the steps above and change the serial number to '11' for all Gen2 systems except the SLIM Endurance battery.
