The latest Foil Drive App update introduces new power options, support for the MAX+ and FM+ 650 Batteries, and a new motor braking control to help resolve unwanted motor spinning.

Make sure your Foil Drive App is updated to the latest version to access these new features.

Major Fusion Power Upgrade

The Fusion system now offers up to 10% more continuous power with the introduction of the new Ultra Power Mode.

Fusion Ultra Power Mode

Ultra Power Mode increases the Fusion's continuous power output from 1750 W to 1850 W.

This additional power is particularly useful for:

• Heavier riders
• Riders looking for increased acceleration and performance
• Riders wanting to use smaller boards
• Riders wanting to use smaller wings

Increased Boost

All Fusion power modes now have an increased maximum Boost setting.

The maximum Boost has increased from 123% to 128%, giving riders access to additional short-duration power when needed.

Note: Higher power settings can increase battery consumption and may affect overall ride time.

Introducing MAX+ and FM+ 650 Battery Support

The latest App update introduces support for the new MAX+ and FM+ 650 Batteries.

You can now:

• Program your MAX+ Power Mode
• View additional smart battery information
• Monitor State of Charge (SoC)
• View Cell Health
• Access other battery information directly through the App

This provides greater visibility into your battery's condition and allows you to get the most from your new smart battery.

Motor Braking Control

A new Motor Braking setting has been added under Advanced Settings.

This setting can be used if you experience the motor continuing to spin when the throttle is not engaged.

When should I adjust Motor Braking?

If your motor is spinning when you have released the throttle and the motor should be stopped, Motor Braking can be adjusted to help prevent unwanted motor rotation.

To access the setting:

App → Advanced Settings → Motor Braking

Adjust setting by 1 step and then program unit, check if this fixes motor spinning issue. If not, increase by one setting again and repeat until issue resolved.

Important: If your motor continues to spin unexpectedly, always release the throttle and ensure the motor has stopped before troubleshooting or making adjustments. 

Important: Before changing brake settings, always check the controller to ensure it is calibrated.

Updating Your App

Update the Foil Drive App to V1.4.0 (161) to access all of the latest features.

For the best experience, we recommend keeping your App, Controller and Foil Drive system firmware up to date.

Previous Firmware Update

App Version 1.2.3.134 (March 2026)

This update introduced improvements to motor protection, ride feel, functionality and V3 Controller performance.

RPM Limit — Over-Revving Protection

A rev limiter was introduced to help prevent the motor from over-revving when operating out of the water, reducing the risk of potential motor damage.

The system applies a maximum RPM of approximately 4200–4300 RPM when operating in air with no load.

This does not reduce the available thrust or power during normal operation. The RPM limit is designed to prevent excessive motor speed when the motor is out of the water.

Performance Improvements

The updated motor profiles provide improved power delivery across MAX, SLIM and Fusion systems.

These changes provide:

• Smoother power delivery
• Improved ride feel
• Reduced "bucking bronco" effect when surface motoring
• Improved system efficiency

Fusion Updates

Battery Power Output ON/OFF Control

A new Power ON/OFF control was introduced for the Fusion Battery.

This allows users to turn the battery output OFF while the battery remains connected to the system, helping to reduce unnecessary battery drain.

Advanced Tilt Sensor Functions

Advanced Tilt Sensor controls were added to allow users to adjust Pitch and Roll degrees independently.

These settings can be accessed through:

App → Advanced Settings

Pitch and Roll can be adjusted individually to suit the rider's specific setup and requirements.

V3 Controller Updates

The V3 Controller also received several performance and usability improvements:

• Reduced long-button-press duration — Less time is required to perform functions that require a long button press.
• Improved GPS data filtering — Enhancements to GPS data processing provide improved performance.
• Improved proportional trigger in Gear Mode — Refined trigger response provides better control when operating in Gear Mode.
• Cruise Control improvements — Updates improve the overall operation and response of Cruise Control.
