What is the Gen2.5 Architecture?
Gen2.5 is a set of upgrades across the battery, electronics and safety systems, designed to deliver more power, longer sessions and greater durability.

43V Electronics
Gen2.5 systems use a 43V electrical architecture.
The higher voltage helps reduce the effects of voltage drop, allowing the system to maintain power more effectively throughout your session.
The result is a punchier take-off, more consistent performance and more efficient battery use.
20–27% More Power & Thrust
Gen2.5 delivers 20–27% more power and thrust compared with previous-generation systems.
The additional power gives you the option to:
- Downsize your foil or board
- Get more performance from your existing setup
- Ride more efficiently at lower throttle percentages
Smarter Battery Technology
Gen2.5 batteries feature a Smart Battery Management System (BMS) that actively manages the battery during:
- Riding
- Charging
- Storage
You can also connect your battery to the Foil Drive App to turn the battery ON or OFF, which is particularly useful for trench boards and concealed battery installations.
Enhanced Battery Durability
Gen2.5 batteries feature a robust moulded housing with an IP69 waterproof rating, helping protect the battery cells from water and the harsh marine environment.
The battery is also designed as an independent, replaceable component, allowing you to change or upgrade your battery without replacing the entire system.
Faster Charging
Every Gen2.5 system includes a 43V 12Ah charger, providing fast charging so you can spend less time waiting and more time on the water.
Enhanced Safety Features
Gen2.5 systems support enhanced safety features designed to make Foil Drive easier and more comfortable to learn.
The optional Tilt Sensor and Auto Lock functions can help riders build confidence and become more comfortable with their setup.
