The CODE Foils x Foil Drive Integrated Mast range combines CODE Foils' high-performance foil design with Foil Drive's integrated propulsion technology, creating a clean, streamlined setup designed for a refined foiling experience across a wide range of conditions. 

Built using ultra-high modulus carbon, the integrated mast is designed to deliver exceptional stiffness, strength and control while incorporating the Foil Drive motor directly into the mast for improved hydrodynamics and reduced drag.

The range is available in two pod-height configurations, 11 cm and 17 cm, allowing riders to choose the setup that best matches their riding style and how they use their Foil Drive.


11cm Ultra High Modulus Mast

The 11 cm pod provides the most streamlined Foil Drive configuration, designed for riders who primarily use Foil Drive to assist with getting onto foil before switching to unpowered foiling. 

With the motor positioned higher in the water, the 11 cm configuration reduces the likelihood of the pod contacting the water during normal foiling, helping deliver a more natural, traditional foiling experience.

The 11 cm mast is particularly suited to wave riding, downwind foiling and riders focused on maximising unpowered foil performance. It is the preferred choice for riders who want Foil Drive primarily as an assist rather than for extended powered riding.

17cm Ultra High Modulus Mast

The 17 cm pod provides a more versatile setup for riders who use their Foil Drive for both powered and unpowered riding. 

The lower pod position provides greater clearance between the board and motor when riding at lower speeds, making it better suited to motoring around, travelling upwind, returning to the lineup and riding in varied conditions.

The 17 cm configuration is the more versatile option for riders who want to use Foil Drive across a wider range of conditions and riding styles. It is also a strong choice for riders who are unsure how they will use their system or want the flexibility to motor more frequently.

Which Pod Height Should I Choose?

The two pod heights are designed around different riding priorities:

11 cm – Foil Assist & Performance

  • Primarily use Foil Drive to get onto foil
  • Wave riding and clean conditions
  • Downwind foiling where the motor is mainly used for take-off
  • Want the most natural unpowered foiling experience
  • Looking to maximise traditional foiling performance

17 cm – Versatility & Powered Riding

  • Regularly motor around or travel upwind
  • Use Foil Drive to return to the lineup
  • Ride in a wider range of conditions
  • Want greater versatility from one setup
  • Plan to use the motor more frequently throughout a session

As a general guide, choose the 11 cm if your priority is riding the foil, and the 17 cm if you want greater versatility and powered performance.

Designed for Foil Drive

The CODE Integrated Mast has been purpose-built around the Foil Drive system, eliminating many of the additional components associated with external or universal mounts.

The Foil Drive unit mounts directly to the mast, creating a clean connection between the mast and Electronics Box. The base plate is designed to match the width of the Foil Drive unit, while additional mounting holes allow the mast and unit to be secured together for easier handling and assembly. 

The mast also features an internal cable channel, with an access hatch allowing the cable length to be adjusted when changing between compatible Foil Drive systems.

Installation & Maintenance

Follow the installation instructions supplied with your CODE Integrated Mast and Foil Drive system.

During installation, ensure:

  • The motor and mast are correctly secured
  • The Foil Drive cable is correctly routed and has no unnecessary tension
  • All mounting hardware is correctly installed
  • The motor connection is clean and properly seated
  • The mast and Electronics Box are securely connected before riding

Regularly rinse and inspect the mast, motor connection, cable and mounting hardware after use, particularly following salt-water sessions. While the integrated system is designed as a robust, streamlined setup, regular cleaning and inspection remain important for long-term reliability.
