If your controller is showing a hall error, prompting “re-calibrate”, or the throttle is not responding correctly (0–100% not lining up), the issue is usually caused by the trigger not aligning with the internal magnetic sensor.

In most cases, this can be resolved by recalibrating the controller. A full factory reset is only required if issues persist.

1. Recalibration (Recommended First Step)

Before doing a factory reset, always try a recalibration.

How to recalibrate:

• Press + and – together to enter the settings menu
• Navigate to Setting 2: Calibrate
• Press the B button to enter
• Follow the on-screen prompts

Calibration steps:

• Pull the trigger fully to 100%
• Wait for confirmation that calibration is complete
• Exit back to the main menu
• Press and hold – to return to the home screen

2. Verify Calibration

After recalibration:

Trigger Mode:

• Pull trigger from 0% → 100% → back to 0%
• Ensure smooth, full-range response

Gear Mode:

• Select Gear 5
• Pull trigger to confirm it reaches ~95–100%
• Press B if needed to confirm full range

If response is inconsistent, repeat calibration once more.

3. Additional Troubleshooting (If Issues Persist)

If recalibration does not resolve the issue:

• Rinse controller in warm fresh water (to remove salt buildup)
• Allow to dry completely
• Inspect trigger area for debris or stiffness
• If necessary, remove five rear screws and check:
  • Trigger alignment
  • Spring condition
  • Internal debris or obstruction

If any parts are damaged, replacement components may be required (refer to Foil Drive support documentation).

4. Factory Reset (Use Only If Required)

A factory reset should only be used if:

• Calibration fails repeatedly
• Controller behaviour is inconsistent after cleaning
• Directed by support team

Factory reset steps:

• Enter Settings Menu (press + and – together)
• Scroll to Factory Reset
• Press B button to select
• Confirm reset when prompted

Note: This will restore all settings to default and may require full recalibration and re-pairing afterwards.

5. After Reset

Once reset is complete:

• Re-pair controller to system
• Perform full calibration
• Re-check throttle response in both modes
