If you can hear water inside your Foil Drive nose cone, don't panic.
On some of the very early Foil Drive systems, water can enter and become trapped inside small cavities within the nose cone. These cavities are separate from the area where your battery and electronics are housed.

Is the water damaging my system?
No.
The water is trapped inside the nose cone's internal cavities and does not enter the battery or electronics compartment.
This means that, in these early nose cones, hearing water inside the nose cone is not an indication that your battery or electronics have been exposed to water.
Why Is There Water Inside the Nose Cone?
The nose cone contains two small internal cavities, one on each side.
On some of the earliest production units, the adhesive used to seal the small caps covering these cavities was not thick enough to completely prevent water ingress.
As a result, water can enter through a very small gap and become trapped inside the cavity.
This water may be audible when you move or shake the nose cone.
The water is contained within these internal cavities and is separate from the sealed area that houses your battery and electronics.
Which Nose Cones Are Affected?
This issue was limited to a small number of early production nose cones.
Foil Drive subsequently identified the issue and updated the manufacturing process to improve the sealing of these cavities.
Some early nose cones may:
- Allow a small amount of water into the internal cavities.
- Have no visible signs of water ingress.
- Have already been modified or sealed as part of the updated manufacturing process.
What Should I Do If I Can Hear Water?
If your nose cone is one of the early versions and has water trapped inside it, there is no need to be concerned about damage to your Foil Drive system.
The water is contained within the nose cone and does not affect:
- Your battery
- The electronics
- The electrical connections
- The operation of your Foil Drive system
The water is essentially a cosmetic nuisance rather than a functional issue.
Replacement Nose Cones
Foil Drive has updated the manufacturing process to prevent water from entering these cavities.
If you have an affected early nose cone and would like to replace it, complete the Warranty Claim Form on the website.
If you notice water inside your nose cone and are unsure whether it is simply trapped in the internal cavities or whether there may be an issue with the main electronics compartment, stop using the system and contact Foil Drive Support before attempting any repairs.
