Throttle Calibration GuideUpdated 44 minutes ago

The throttle calibration on your V2 Controller ensures the controller correctly recognises the minimum and maximum positions of both triggers.

Calibration is rarely required, but it may be necessary if the throttle readings are incorrect or the controller is not correctly detecting the full range of trigger movement.

For instructional video, see: Recalibrating the Controller Triggers

When to Recalibrate

You may need to recalibrate the controller if:

  • The throttle does not correctly reach 0% or 100%.
  • Trigger positions are being detected incorrectly.
  • A trigger has been replaced.
  • A trigger spring has been replaced.
  • Foil Drive Support has asked you to recalibrate the controller.

Recalibration Instructions

1. Turn On the Controller

  1. Press and hold the Power Button to turn on the controller.

2. Enter the Controller Menu

  1. Press and hold the Cruise Control Trigger.
  2. While continuing to hold the Cruise Control Trigger, single press the Power Button.
  3. Release the Cruise Control Trigger.

The controller will now display the menu.

3. Select Calibration

  1. Use short presses of the Power Button to move the indicator arrow through the menu.
  2. Continue until the arrow is next to 5. Calibration.
  3. Press and hold the Power Button to select Calibration.

The controller will display the calibration screen.

4. Calibrate the Throttle Trigger

  1. Starting with the throttle trigger released, smoothly pull the trigger all the way to 100%.
  2. Smoothly release the trigger back to its resting position.

The controller should display CAL OK to confirm a successful calibration.

5. Calibrate the Cruise Control Trigger

  1. Starting with the Cruise Control Trigger released, smoothly move the trigger through its full range.
  2. Smoothly return the trigger to its resting position.

The controller should display CAL OK.

Important: If the controller displays anything other than CAL OK, the calibration has not been successful. Start the calibration process again and repeat both triggers.

6. Save the Calibration

  1. Once both triggers display CAL OK, press and hold the Power Button for approximately 4 seconds.
  2. The controller will return to the main menu.
  3. Press the Cruise Control Trigger once to exit the menu.

Your V2 Controller is now recalibrated.

Check Trigger Operation

After calibration, check that:

  • Both triggers move smoothly through their full range.
  • The throttle correctly responds to trigger movement.
  • The triggers return fully to their resting positions.
  • The controller correctly detects the minimum and maximum trigger positions.

If the throttle readings are still incorrect after recalibration, repeat the calibration process. If the issue persists, contact Foil Drive Support for assistance.
