Controller Safety Before Entering the WaterUpdated 2 hours ago

Using your V3 Controller correctly is essential for both your safety and the safety of those around you. Before entering the water, it's important to understand how to power the controller on and off, lock and unlock it, and when the motor can become active.

Following these simple steps each time you ride will help prevent accidental propeller activation while carrying or handling your equipment on the beach.

Important: The propeller can spin whenever the controller is unlocked and the trigger is pulled. Always keep your body, clothing and any other objects clear of the propeller whenever the system is powered on.

Best Practice Guidelines

Step 1 – Keep the Controller Turned Off on Land

Before carrying your Foil Drive to the water:

  • Ensure the controller is turned off.
  • Keep the controller switched off while transporting your equipment across the beach or shoreline.

Only turn the controller on once the motor is fully submerged underwater.

Step 2 – Turn the Controller On

To power on the controller:

  1. Press and hold the + (Plus) button for approximately 3 seconds.
  2. Release the button once the display lights up.

When first powered on, the controller will automatically be locked.

You'll see "LOCK" displayed on the screen.

Step 3 – Unlock the Controller

Before unlocking:

  • Confirm the motor is fully underwater.
  • Check that no people, animals or objects are near the propeller.

To unlock:

  1. Press and hold the B button for approximately 2 seconds.
  2. Release the button when "LOCK" disappears from the display.

Important: Do not pull the trigger while locking or unlocking the controller.

Once unlocked, pulling the trigger will activate the motor.

Step 4 – Ride Safely

With the controller unlocked:

  • Pull the trigger to apply thrust.
  • Keep your hands, feet and body well clear of the propeller at all times.
  • Be aware that any trigger input will cause the motor to respond.

Step 5 – Turn the Controller Off After Your Session

Before exiting the water:

  1. While the motor is still fully underwater, press and hold the + (Plus) button for approximately 3 seconds until the display turns off.
  2. The controller is now powered down.

Step 6 – Perform a Final Safety Check

Before carrying your equipment from the water:

  1. Pull the trigger once.
  2. Confirm that the propeller does not spin.

This simple check verifies that the controller is switched off and the motor cannot be activated while handling your equipment.

Best Practice Routine

For every session, follow the same routine:

  • Keep the controller off while on land.
  • Only turn it on once the motor is underwater.
  • Ensure the area around the propeller is clear before unlocking.
  • Turn the controller off before leaving the water.
  • Perform a final trigger check to confirm the motor is inactive.

Following this procedure every ride is the safest way to operate your Foil Drive system.
